Registration of .gov.uk and .ac.uk domain names

We have satisfied the requirements laid down by UKERNA (United Kingdom Education & Research Networking Association) and are registered as a JANET (Joint Academic Network) approved web hosting provider.

This means that we are trusted to register and host UK domains with the extensions .gov.uk and .ac.uk.

Our membership number is 00822.

We have set up an online application process for those organisations wishing to request a UKERNA domain.

Note that you must check that you are eligible to apply and that your chosen domain complies with the rigorously applied naming conventions. In the early days of registering .gov.uk and .ac.uk names these conventions were not always adhered to, indeed they may not have existed then.

Previously registered domains that do not comply with the conventions do not set a precedent for present or future requests.
