Opera Software
Now there is no excuse....
20th September 2005: Opera software today announced that the best browser on the planet is now free - no ad banners, no trial version.
We have nothing to gain here, we are not affiliates to any of the sites listed on this page, but our number one site is Opera software. We spend many hours using browsers of all types and anything else just doesn't compare.
Unlike Internet Explorer, Opera isn't an integral part of your computer's operating system so it is much safer to use. How many times has a Windows security hole been via Internet Explorer?
Once installed, Opera can be customised to give you much more screen area. Opera isn't just a browser, its built-in email and news client makes Outlook look slow, out of touch and frankly, silly.
OK, Mozilla Firefox is a fine browser and if it helps the demise of Internet Explorer then that's great for the web, but every single "new" feature that appeared in Firefox has been enjoyed by Opera users for ages.
We would rather recommend the guys from Oslo that set the standards that Mozilla imitates.
Download the best browser on the planet from Norway's Opera Software.
OpenOffice.org
Looking for an alternative to Microsoft Office?
How about an office suite that's better, yet doesn't cost you a penny? No catches, no trial version, you get the full package as a free download.
We have found that OpenOffice is more stable, creates leaner files and is extremely easy to use. With OpenOffice you can open and keep even your most complex MS Office documents and spreadsheets without having to convert them. One of very many useful features is the ability to create instant PDFs.
We have made the switch, why don't you? OpenOffice.org
Update (2nd Jun 2005):
BBC News report that Microsoft are to follow the lead of OpenOffice and use XML as the file format for MS Office from late next year.

Dogs Trust
On the right is Solly, our beautiful German Shepherd Dog and Vantech's head of security.
Solly has the run of the office and keeps us sane by needing lots of walks every day.
We got her from the Dogs Trust's rehoming centre in Snetterton, Norfolk and it was one of the best things we have ever done.
