A small selection, in alphabetical order, of the many sites we have produced over the years. Each one has won an award of some sort:

We have enjoyed a long relationship with this major player in the specialised field of Architectural Glazing & curtain walling. Constructing magnificent glass roofs and facades this company works closely with some of the UK's most respected architects.

A recent addition to the site was an on-line specifier & ordering facility for their popular DIY rooflight system.

Everhard Electrical Ltd, Dereham

[External link: Everhard Electrical Ltd, Norfolk]

We were instructed to take over the hosting of this site from a large design company and increase its very inadequate search engine performance. The site was so poorly constructed that we decided the only option was a complete redesign. Now the company has a web-standards-compliant site and an exceptional ranking with Google.

This site appeared in our previous portfolio but we are keeping it in because we were delighted to learn that The Open University used it in their web design courses as an example of how to correctly hand-code and observe the web-standards. At the time there were very few UK designers working to these standards.

Faden's map of Norfolk

[External link: Faden's map of Norfolk]

William Faden was a noted 18th century cartographer. Faden's work covered many parts of the globe but this site is concerned with his map of Norfolk of 1797. Andrew Macnair has completely redrawn the map digitally and now his painstaking work is available for historians and researchers at very reasonable cost.

This static site shows excerpts of the map and provides details of how to order it.

Hi-Fi Cables Direct

[External link: Hi-Fi Cables Direct]

Project: Web site and on-line shop.

Until we met Hi-Fi Cables Direct we thought that hi-fi cables were there just to make the back of a stereo resemble a crow's nest. We were astounded by a quick demonstration of how upgrading the cables that come with even quite expensive systems can dramatically improve sound, vision and gaming.

This company doesn't just supply interconnects though. Their VStream shopping cart has over 2,500 products including headphones, plasma screens, games console accessories, hi-fi cabinets, speakers and stands and complete kits to integrate remote-controlled audio and vision throughout the home.

Products by Alphason, AudioQuest, Black Rhodium, Debut, Grado, Ixos, Merlin, Monster, Optimum, Partington, QED, Supra and many more.

James McCallum, wildlife artist & writer

[External link: James McCallum, wildlife artist & writer]

James McCallum is one of those people that you know has something special as soon as you meet. An incredibly talented local artist, his paintings are made from life in just a few minutes and seem to appear on the blank page almost by magic, such is the speed. His pictures have a life and energy that probably a painstaking painting could never achieve.

These paintings are not just decorative though. James is at one with the nature of his subjects and has an in-depth knowledge of the wildlife he paints. From time to time he brings out a new book, eagerly awaited by fans of his work. The books are of a very high quality, beautifully illustrated in colour throughout, with a fascinating narrative and become collectors' items almost immediately they are published.

To publicise his books, James wanted a simple web site, right up our street, and as a thank you he gave us a copy of his latest book - thanks James!

Jeremy Stacey Architects

[External link: Jeremy Stacey Architects]

Designing for a well-established and respected firm of architects is a little daunting to say the least.

Jeremy Stacey Architects of Beachamwell have completed some impressive projects, many in Norfolk where a mixture of contemporary and traditional styles has to be carefully balanced. They have received awards from the Council for Protection of Rural England for successful integration of new buildings into historic settings. Best known for their energy-efficient buildings with a sound ecological approach, we found them an absolute joy to work with.

The Kaie Tours web site was already up and running when we took it over, virtually as you see it now. We completely recoded the site, making it web-standards compliant yet retaining its original appeal. This is the first step towards getting the site noticed.

Mervyn & The Starbeats

[External link: Sixties group - The Starbeats]

Just to show what can be done on a small budget, this is what we originally marketed as a Vantech mini-site. The Starbeats are a truly authentic sixties band - they were actually around in the 1960s playing gigs to packed audiences. As you can imagine, a band with that sort of experience has a polished, tight sound and the energy is still there. The audiences are as appreciative as then but cover a much wider age range as today's youngsters find that 60s music is still great to sing along and dance to.

What's more, Mervyn and The Starbeats have raised lots of money in aid of local charities. Recently we added a page publicising their new CD and while we were at it, recoded the site to make it web-standards compliant.

Morton Conservatories - Self-install division

[External link: Morton Conservatories - Self-install division]

We have maintained a long-standing link with Morton Conservatories of Norfolk, who service the upper end of a fiercely competitive market. We were responsible for Morton's original, large web site and were pleased to represent them again on the release of a unique self-install range of conservatories known as the Broads Range.

Richard Harris, musician and composer

[External link: Composer, arranger, musician Richard Harris, London]

Richard Harris is a well-known musician and teacher living and working in London. A founder member of the hugely acclaimed Piano Circus, Richard has produced many music books. The main aim of his web site is to enable customers old and new to order and purchase arrangements, compositions, transcriptions on-line. The site is not just about making money though, Richard offers free sheet music for many well-known classics and these can be downloaded from the site. Also available are free musical games that offer a fun-teaching experience and interesting facts about the composers and their music. Part of the profits are donated to charity.

Our html site represents only part of the project, complimenting the existing Flash site. Features include a huge array of dynamic pages using the VStream control panel for content management, on-line secure payment facility and innovative CSS popups.

Norfolk Fishing Trips & Charter

[External link: External link: Norfolk Fishing Trips & Charter]

Norfolk Fishing Trips & Charter take people out into the North Sea to catch Tope (looks to us like a shark) and other fish. While aboard this luxury catamaran guests dine in style, the owner and skipper Adam Wright is also a top-class chef. Site features include online booking and availabilty system, a gallery that the client updates himself via a web interface and news. As the site is also aimed at encouraging sponsors we also provided a scrolling banner feature to rotate their corporate identities.

Olive Garden Villas - North Cyprus Holiday Villa

[External link: Olive Garden Villas - North Cyprus Holiday Villa]

Project: Holiday villa web site design & on-line booking system

Olive Garden Villa, Kyrenia, North Cyprus offers luxury holiday accommodation in one of North Cyprus' most sought after resorts.

This site has many nice features including an unusual opaque effect that allows the background to show through the content area, particularly evident when the page is scrolled. For the bookings and tariffs page we finely tuned our own VStream booking and reservations software providing the clearest yet display of booked or free dates, presented in a familiar calendar-style.

S.A.M. Windows & Conservatories, Fakenham, Norfolk

[External link: S.A.M. Windows & Conservatories]

One of our very first customers, family business S.A.M. is well-known in Norfolk for providing a personal service to such a level that nearly all of their clients come from personal recommendation. Recently the site was refurbished to bring it in line with the all-important web-standards but retaining the original look. For good measure a conservatory gallery was added to show the range of recently-completed projects.

Sunbeach.co.uk

[External link: External link: Sunbeach.co.uk]

The owners of this seaside chalet in Great Yarmouth wanted to get across the outstanding quality of accommodation offered and provide visitors to the site with up-to-date availabilty and tariff information. A simple, clean site was the answer, with the VStream online holiday bookings system that the client updates easily through a simple web-interface - perfect.

Thornham Cottages - holiday accommodation in Norfolk

[External link: Thornham Cottages]

The owners of these beautiful holiday cottages already had a great web site that was performing very well. The only problem was that it needed updating frequently with bookings and tariffs. Our answer was to add the VStream holiday booking software enabling them to change the site whenever they like through a simple web interface.

While we were at it we completely redesigned the site, using the theme of Norfolk poppies and the results are very pleasing.

Whalebone Bakery

[External link: Whalebone Bakery]

Another example of what can be achieved with a single-page web site.

The Whalebone bakery of Melton Constable, Norfolk have been supplying local shops with freshly baked bread and confectionery for years and have built up a large customer base. Normally, in that situation you may think that there's little room for expansion (and probably little need for a website).

The difference here is innovation. Alongside their daily products, Whalebone developed a range of delicious cookies that, when wrapped, have a long shelf-life. They now supply these wholesome biscuits in custom-printed tubes, to tourist attractions and gift-shops all over the UK. People love to take home a souvenir, especially one they can eat.

Wild Olive Villa, North Cyprus

[External link: Wild Olive Villa, North Cyprus]

When we can, we like to start a new web site with pictures, using them as a source of colours for the framework of the site. When the owners of Wild Olive Holiday Villa gave us these pictures we just knew this would be a good one. Azure skies, whitewashed walls and teracotta tiles - the colour scheme was there instantly.

Add the forerunner of our now standard VStream accommodation booking system, the VStream links manager and we have a great web site to introduce you to a beautiful villa in a truly idyllic part of Cyprus.

Wright Landscapes, Norfolk, the brickweave and landscaping experts

[External link: Wright Landscapes, Norfolk]

Yet another example of a single-page site - sometimes all that's required to get the message across. Richard Wright has been in the landscaping business for over forty years and his brickweave work is stunning. This point-of-contact website means that he can reduce advertising costs in the local media, replacing expensive lines of advertising with "see our web site for details".
