Success with search engines

The chances are you found us via a search engine.

Vantech websites are well-known for their superb performance with Google in particular and we have been asked how we achieve it. How much does it cost? What are the secrets? Which system do we use? Is it all done with clever meta tags?

There are no secrets, no tricks or clever meta tags. We get it right because we code by hand, do it properly and ensure that our sites are accessible to as many users as we can possibly include.

If a site can be read by a visually impaired person using a text reader or Braille device then it can be read by Google. Essentially they use the same technique, text-only browsing software. Like many people, Google cannot see, but it can read.

Existing sites

If you already have a site that you're happy with except it doesn't do too well with the search engines, we can help. Increasingly, much of our work involves conversion and correction of existing sites.

Scams

Once you have a website you will be contacted by companies offering to make your site appear at the top of page one in Google. Their charges are very reasonable! Usually much more than we charge to build a site.

Forget it, they are conmen. Just think about it and you should realise it's not possible.

Of course, if you have that kind of money to throw away you could give it to us instead.

Metatags

We do include the keyword metatag to help with those search engines that read them. It's easy. Don't expect them to magically bring visitors looking specifically for your competitors' site, that's a pre-Google thing, thankfully.

Patience is a virtue

Once your Vantech site is approved and paid for we'll submit it to lots of search engines. Some will include your site within a week, others may take up to six months. If you are in a hurry you can pay for an express service. This doesn't affect your eventual ranking and it's not cheap but may be worth it depending on your budget and patience.

Guaranteed search engine results?

No. We will not make any guarantees about your site's Google rank, or indeed whether it will be indexed at all. We do however give the assurance that your site will be readable by Google and will be carefully constructed within recognised standards.

Of course, site design goes a long way towards a good ranking but there are other factors to consider such as content and the number and quality of incoming links to your site.

Maintenance

If you have an established Vantech site and at any time you're unhappy with your ranking, talk to us about it. From time to time your site may need adjustment to increase the importance of some words. We do this free of charge and without secret techniques.
